You’ve heard of a cup of joe or a cup of tea.  But have you heard of the lovin’ cup?

A lovin’ cup is exactly that.  A cup of love.  Sure, it may hold coffee or tea.  But it beams love.  Why?!  Because of the Garnish, of course!

As Mother’s Day approaches and you’re thinking of something special to do, think about adding a little Garnish to your festivities.  A white cup with lid accompanied by a candy apple red and white paper straw (writing printed on square clear label) , certainly does pretty up a drink now, don’t ya think.  This is a quick and easy idea that is sure to please and let mom know how much she is loved and appreciated.

After all, “Mothers are those wonderful people who can get up in the morning before the smell of coffee”.

There are cookies.  And then there are cookies.  The difference, a talented gal like Erin and of course, a little Garnish.

Now, these cookies with their cute edible frosting decals are pretty amazing.  But when Garnished with a glassine bag or a cellophane bag tied in twine, well now you’re talking!

Aren’t they wonderful?!  A great little nugget of eye candy.  Planning a Mother’s Day Brunch?  Hosting a baby or bridal shower? Thinking wedding favors? Or my favorite reason to Garnish…no real reason at all!  Just because…you like to make people smile.

So go ahead, get your baking on,or slice and bake (for you bakers out there please don’t cringe).  Whip up a batch.  Dole out the smiles.

Hello Cookies.  Hello Frosting.  Hello Garnish.

lions and tigers

Yet again, Garnish folk never fail to impress.

Check out what Jenn did with the 4×4 clear acetate box.  Well, for that matter, the whole party she threw for her youngest sons’ first birthday is defintely worthy taking a gander (and was featured on Kara’s Party Ideas). Okay, back to the acetate box filled with…wait for it…it’s so simple and ingenious it will make you go hmmm!…animal crackers.  Yup, that’s right, animal crackers.  Brilliant!

Great idea for a little one’s birthday party favor or a baby shower favor.  Jenn customized her Garnish to fit the party theme.  An adorable elephant topped the boxes and the number one graphic for the front.  Love them both.

Animal crackers in an acetate box.  Once again, it doesn’t take much, just a little Garnish!

snack attack

snack attack 2

Problem:  You’ve got the munchies.  You need a quick boost of energy.  You need it now.  Those 20 (give or take) faces staring at you are expecting you to perform.  Thing is, you can’t leave your classroom to grab a bite.

Solution: Reach in your drawer and grab something from your snack attack box graciously given to you during Teacher Appreciation Week by a caring, and understanding, parent.

Want to be that parent, friend or colleague?  Easy.  Because you have Garnish.

We saw this idea in a catalogue and we made it our own.  No need to use their, no offense, sorta cheesy boxes.  Use a blank slate and make it your own.  We used the squat white gable box for one of our snack attack boxes and the 4×4x4 kraft box for the other.  How fun is the packing list label on the gable box?!  Really any container or bag will do the job.

What you put inside is your choice.  Anything to curb the hunger.  But since we did ours for Teacher Appreciation Week we put the following:

Mini Chips Ahoy – Because you’re always willing to chip in with a helping hand.

Mounds Bar – For the mounds of appreciation you deserve.

Cup of Soup – Because you warm our hearts with your commitment.

Pretzels – For being someone we can count on in a crunch.

Popcorn – Because we’re bursting with gratitude for you!

Teacher Appreciation Week begins May 3rd.  Administrative Day is April 22nd.  Nurse’s Day is May 12th.  Great idea for bridesmaids and groomsmen too.  For that matter, snack attacks happen to all of us.

FYI…all the items we listed will fit in square kraft box, with the lid open.  You could always substitue some items to be able to close the lid.  For example, take out pretzels and put in Kit Kat bar and you can use the same saying.  The packing list label had to be trimmed to fit on this particular box.

If anyone loves the packing list idea as much as we did, we’ve got extras that we don’t need.  Just put in the comments section of the shopping cart the number of labels you would like and we’ll include them in your order…for free (while supplies last)!

Keep those munchies at bay, the Garnish way!

No Kitchen Utensils

Every once in a while the comment will pop up – Love Garnish, but don’t love to cook.  To which we reply – You don’t need to cook sweetie, just add a little Garnish and no one will know!  For example, yes, I’ll admit it, there are occasions where I just might have popped by Starbucks or a the bake shop of a grocery store to pick up some treats.  I put my own spin on the Garnish, ’cause that’s what’s so great.  Now, I never offered up that it wasn’t homemade.  I didn’t need to, I had them at the packaging.

No Kitchen Utensils 1

Back in December Garnish participated in a giveaway hosted by The Nester.  We sent her some Garnishes to play with and what she came up with blew our ribbons and bows off.  Here’s a great example.  She spoke about sprucing up hand me down toys, a great budget gift.  She added a little Garnish.  And she was right when she questioned what little boy wouldn’t love to receive some Legos for  his collection when presented like this in our pint sized paper container.

You know what really hit the wow button?  The use of the ribbon on just the lid.  Just the lid folks!  Seriously had never thought of that and am in deep love.  Wouldn’t this be fun for all you ice cream folks out there?  I say put ribbons and bows in the freezer.  Just maybe put a piece of plastic wrap or press and seal on top of the ice cream first so the ribbon stays clean.  Maybe some caramel corn inside, with the same type of ribbon idea. Yummy and cute party favor.

And, no kitchen utensils required!

lemonice

Sort of feel like we’ve been chatting a lot recently about ice cream but hey, the skies have finally parted here and the sun is out and oh my gosh it is warm!

So today, ice cream is on the mind.  And it’s also been on the mind of Leah’s, a totally thoughtful, Garnish friend.  She was kind enough to share with us how she added a little Garnish and it must be shared.  You see, Leah has been using our pint sized soup/ice cream containers to package her homemade ice creams, sorbets and sherbets as gifts for friends, family and coworkers.  Oh, how I’d love to be on that list!  But wait, there’s more.

This is where that totally thoughtful part comes in (as if the frozen treats weren’t thoughtful enough).  Leah does a little sleuthing to uncover what the recipients favorite dessert or fruit flavors are (fantastic).  And to top it off, decorates the containers (love that blank slate) with stickers that represent what’s inside.  Like one big cherry sticker for cherry sherbet or puts a poem or song lyric that also represents what’s inside, like a line from Raspberry Beret by Prince for a double raspberry swirl ice cream.

So that all got our creative juices flowing.  We talked before about having an ice cream naming party/competition.  And now we have a few of our own to share.

A perfect garnish for your Garnish.

As the warm weather approaches and your ice cream makers start whirring, think ice cream for a thoughtful and unique hostess gift, party favor, or just reason to have a party.  Pair with a couple of wooden spoons to add to the thoughtfulness and whimsy of it all.

Thank you Leah for your brrr-illiant inspiration!
