We’re starting a new series here at Garnish where we take one product and show you six possibilities to add a little Garnish. We’ve named it six pack, and here goes.
The No Soup for You container got it’s name from the love-to-hate-him character from Seinfeld. However, this beauty’s duties go far beyond just holding soup.
- Know someone feeling under the weather? Give the perfect cure, soup. Garnish with red and white bakery twine and a disposable wooden spoon. They’ll be feeling better at first sight.
- Looking for a way to display cutlery for a buffet? This is both pretty and functional. All the things a Garnish gal/guy loves.
- Need a party favor that won’t be trashed? Pour pieces of Lego into the container and don with a clear square label. Beautiful!
- Who doesn’t love something sweet?! Let them eat cake, or a cupcake, or whatever suits your mood. Accompany with a disposable wooden fork and let them dig right in.
- Have flowers but don’t know what to do with them? Use the container as a vase. It creates a simple and sophisticated centerpiece when they’re lined up down the middle of the table.
- Want a way to cool off? Serve ice cream. For those who make it yourself, this is perfect. A great hostess gift, party favor, or good looking dessert bar.
- What a number 7?! No, just wanted to let you know that you can click on the pic to see it larger…for those of us with old ailing eyes.
So there you have it. Who knew you could have so much fun with No Soup For You?!

Ice cold milk and chocolate. Doesn’t that sound yummy? Sure does, especially when it’s Garnished with a blue and white striped paper straw.
Niki at Papery and Cakery was involved in planning a baby shower with Brandi. Folks, this one is full of inspiration, splendor and happiness.
Grab some milk and chocolate goodness and go check it out.

I once read somewhere that the best birthday party favor ever received was a pair of socks. The clothes dryer is always hungry for socks and us Garnish folk are big fans of unique party favors that are either consumable or serve a function. We’ll consider warm tootsies, a function.
Amber had an idea for cupcakes using this translucent deli container. We built on that, an added a bright and cheery pair of socks.
I ask you this…how freaking cute would these look hanging from a clothesline?!!
And in case you’re curious, all we did was make a little slice in the lid and loop and knot a piece of ribbon.

Trust me when I say this will be a birthday party moment. How do I know this? I held this party for a group of 7 year old boys. At first all I could think was, really…a cooking party?! And all I could imagine was a destroyed kitchen and quickly calculating the amount of paper towels required to pull off this event.
I was so wrong and this party was, and is, oh so right!
Check out our latest idea for all the details. It’s name: If They Make It, They Will Eat It, was proven on that 7 year old day. One of the sous chefs announced, upon his arrival, that he doesn’t eat anything except for peanut butter and jelly. His mother, nodded in agreement and dismay. Should make for an interesting day. But here’s what transpired. They all had an amazingly great time. Who knew that squishing tomatoes and preparing meatballs could be so much fun?! Yes, there might have been a little food fight involved but that’s all in day with boys, right!
I decided to leave the actual stove and oven work to the above 30 18 crowd and sent the boys outside to toss around the ice cream ball they prepped. Great way to burn off some energy and bonus..ice cream for the cake. When it was time to eat, they dove right in. Even that little dude who told me he only ate PB&J. After a little encouragement from his buds, he ate everything. And, he loved it all!
All the boys were sent home with samplings of everything they made to share with their families. A perfect party favor. They were so proud of their accomplishments.
Get creative in the kitchen. Grab some Garnish. Give a moment, of the cookery kind.

It’s May, thus it is Spring. We’re venturing outside full of vigor. Running through the grass in our bare feet. Awakening our senses after a long winter’s nap. It’s time to find the simple joy. It’s time to smile. And boy, oh boy, do we have a smile for you.
Amber at Giver’s Log brings us today’s smile. Her brain is a creative warehouse. And if you haven’t already discovered her, I suggest you go get lost in her dot com world. Bring some snacks, you might be there a while.
Think Maypole and now take that concept and turn it into anytime fun and beauty. That’s what Amber did and the result is brilliant. Ribbons attached to a wooden dowel, reminicent of the Maypole. Fits perfectly inside a clear candy tube for a stunning presentation. It’s smallness and portability allow for it’s uses go far beyond the month of May. A special treat for a picnic, a BBQ, children dancing at a wedding. Memorial day cookout, 4th of July reunions, birthday party favors. See what we’re talking about here?!
Imagining the sun our faces, the wind in our hair and ribbons and giggles floating through the air. Aren’t you?!

What’s better than a little something sweet? A little something sweet, that’s cute!
Hmmm, what’s inside that little brown box? Could it be a slice of cake? Maybe a pastry…I’m thinking a mille-feuille. And that fork (how fun with the rub on letters!). Just staring at you, calling your name to dig on in. Oh great, now there’s potential for drool on the keyboard.
Here you have it, kraft rectangle box + wooden fork + natural bakery twine. Place a petite loaf liner inside to spruce it up a bit. What are you going to do with it? Wedding favors, party favors, shower favors. Share that big cake you made (really, do you need the whole cake?) with those around you. A great presentation for dessert. Bring a bite of sweet to that person who you know really needs a smile today. So simple, yet so fun. A statement, made.
Now, back to what is awaiting inside that box. Eclair, tiramisu, sponge cake, heavenly chocolate cake…

…is more friends like Natalie. While she is not a personal friend (maybe she’ll friend adopt me!), I know that if I was down in the trenches, I would want her right alongside me. You see, Natalie’s bestie, Jenn, is preggers and has been put on bed rest. So, since Jenn couldn’t go to a baby shower, Natalie brought the baby shower to her. Using her girlfriend sneaky ways, she knew the only time that Jenn left the house was to pick her daughter up from school. During that 8 minute departure from home and bed, Natalie snuck in and set up an amazing display of friendship, love, and thoughtfulness.
The celebration took place in the backyard, picnic style. Wooden pint size berry boxes held the nourishment, small white gable boxes held the treats (aren’t they so cute with the names?!) and, blue and white straws transported the sweet key lime sodas.
If you know someone who needs a little pick-me-up think like Natalie. I am confident that Jenn’s world was a little brighter that day. Being stuck at home was a little bit easier. And her growing bundle did a little happy dance in the womb.
Moments like these…that’s what life is all about.

by the way…wouldn’t this make for a fun Memorial Day picnic?!
