Do you hear it?! The giggles of little ones, the laughter of grown ups. The lively chatter of folks visiting and catching up. The squeals of delight as friends and family reunite after a too-long absence. What’s that you ask?! Why, those are the sounds of water splashing, motor boats whirring, and paddles dipping in the lake.
Ahh, the sounds of summer. The enjoyment of celebrating the 4th of July. I bet you’re smiling right now just thinking of it all. And we’ll double down, and bet you’ll enjoy these 4th of July party ideas and inspirations even more.
What’s that noise? It’s the gentle flap of the flag dancing in the breeze. Red, white, and blue…the colors of Old Glory. And what’s this you see? A festive party favor for your holiday table. Candies in a 3×3x3 clear acetate box wrapped in red and white twine. Imagine a table or tiered stand filled with these. You know how we love us something sweet!
Can you hear the sizzle of the grill? The cooking mode of choice for an independence day festivity. The paper chipboard tray is the serving style of choice. Your hotdogs and sides will rest comfortably here. Burgers and lobster rolls too! Chopped pickles in the oval dip cups and condiments in the 2oz plastic bottles (thanks to this Garnish customer for that brilliant thought!). Give your guests a helping hand and put together disposable wooden cutlery and paper straws and a napkin too in the small white paper bag. A pretty trim of the bag adds to the beauty.
Do brain freezes make a noise? I don’t know about that, but I do know that everyone loves something cold on a hot summer day. Make your own snow cones in our white paper cone cup and serve with a wooden spoon. Anything cold will do, sorbet, granita, or freeze juice in ice cubes tray. Put those frozen cubes in a plastic bag and give it a bang. That’s what we did and it looks pretty darn yummy!
Crackling, snapping, and maybe a little singing. The sounds of a campfire. A favorite way to end the day. Gathering around the warmth of the flame and watching fireworks or fireflies. There’s still room in those tummies for a gooey marshmallowy, chocolately treat. Presenting all the ingredients to make your s’mores in a 4×4x4 white box, and sweet sentiment on a square clear label, will really cap off your holiday right.
We love the sounds of summer and we love the sight of a Garnished one!
Don’t forget to click on a pic if you want to see it in its full glory.
Garnish + Enjoy

This giving tree is a little different than the one depicted in the infamous story by Shel Silverstein. But I guess, in a way, the meaning is still the same. Giving makes us happy. We always like to find a way to put an emphasis on the ‘giving’ of Thanksgiving and the holidays. And we think we’ve found a memorable and unique way. (more…)

The other weekend my man was in NYC for his once a year ‘bachelor party’. We’ve been hitched for 11 years, but whatever!
One of their stops on their night (of trying to pretend they’re in their 20’s when they’re, well, not!) on the town was a place called The Box. A very hip, slightly deviant (so I am told, since I wasn’t there) place. Hubby is a pretty good guy, when they arrived, at 2am, at said joint and found these little bags of popcorn sitting at the tables, he thought of me.
Who couldn’t use a little nibble of popcorn from a little white paper bag. Even at 2am. I mean, if it’s good enough for a hip and happening spot, then it’s good enough for my house! How fun to have these out on your appetizer table. I’m thinking folks will love it.
Totally unexpected, totally Garnish. Besides, don’t we all want to be a little bit deviant sometimes?!
Garnish + Enjoy!

Kate added a little Garnish to her school’s alumni dinner. Absolutely beautiful. Here’s what she had to say:
“Thank you so much for providing such AMAZING service! I work for a school in California, and we needed an inexpensive way to dress up our low-key alumni reunion dinners, and I immediately thought of Garnish, which I had read about in the Hostess with the Mostess blog. I cruised over to your website and looked through your products for inspiration. I saw the white sandwich bags, and, as I had hoped, I was inspired. I ordered the bags, and I was truly amazed when they arrived only two business days later, beautifully packaged with a handwritten note on our invoice! I was VERY impressed!

We cut the Garnish paper bags with “fancy” scissors to various heights, filled them with sand and a small glass votive candle, and voilà we had an inexpensive centerpiece! At night, the luminers glowed, illuminating the space–it was beautiful”

Thanks Kate for sharing your Garnish, story, and inspiration with us. We love it! How have you (or plan to) added a little Garnish?

Comfort foods. We all love them because they make us feel, well, so comforted and good. Like a great big hug! And who couldn’t use one of those?! I consider a nice bowl of steaming soup to fall into this category. Pair with a grilled cheese (mmmm…, cheese!) and you’ve got a quick and delicious supper. So why not gather your friends and share some comfort with a soup swap, our newest moment of inspiration. (more…)

Nothing like some summer sunshine to gather the troops and celebrate friendship. Thanks to Alicia for sharing with us her Garnished “Summerfest”. She and her husband are alums of Syracuse University and each summer their gang of fellow alums take turns hosting their summer get together. Sounds like a fabulous time, and idea to me! (more…)
