moderation

It’s that time of year.  You know, that time. They’re  everywhere, playing with our minds.  All things diet and exercise, have us by our marionette strings.  All things fresh and new, are the bow to our fiddle.

Well, I say…phoey to it all!  Don’t get me wrong, I support a healthy lifestyle.  But I don’t think that healthy needs to be boring.  I believe in a little something called moderation my friends.  Okay, well honestly it’s more like I’m hiding behind that word because I have zero will power.  So for me, moderation is a necessity. But here’s the thing.  I love to bake, especially with my children.  I also love to fit into my skinny jeans (without having to spray my legs with Pam in order to slide them on).  So my resolution.  Bake when I feel like baking.  Enjoy a little and share a bunch.  I mean really, does my family  need 2 dozen cookies (emphasis on the need, want they just might)?!

Here’s the how to.  A small bio-pak container for a brownie dessert for the family next door.  A simple white box (with a circle label explaining it all) for an elderly friend.  A berry box in a cellophane bag for the teachers’ room or office break room.  All perfect (and stylish) ways to share.

If you’re looking for something sweet to add to your baking repertoire try these Rolo cookies I found at This Week for Dinner which came from A Greatfull Day (have to give props where props are due!).  They are beyond decadent and incredibly easy (and fun) to make.

Enjoy all that life has to offer.  Do it with moderation.  And add a little Garnish.

Garnish + Enjoy

Pour Moi?

I know that it is better to give than receive. And in all honesty I do have so much fun giving. But I received a little something in the mail that made me smile, maybe even a little bit giddy. Garnish gal pal Maddie sent my way a super adorable “java wrapz”, with the Garnish logo, that she made. Okay, I can barely thread a needle and look at this stitchery! (more…)
